A former Nassau County School District employee has been arrested following an investigation into the alleged theft of more than $100,000 from Hilliard Middle-Senior High School over several years.
According to the Nassau County Sheriff’s Office, Jennifer Lynn Folliett, 46, of Hilliard, was arrested Tuesday and charged with organized fraud, grand theft and official misconduct. Investigators allege Folliett stole school funds while employed as a bookkeeper at the school.
The investigation began in February 2025 after the Nassau County School Board reported suspected financial discrepancies involving school accounts, including the misuse of the school’s Amazon account. A subsequent inquiry found that Folliett allegedly diverted money from multiple areas of the school for personal use.
Third-party audits conducted over the past year determined that between August 2022 and December 2024, Folliett made 148 separate cash deposits into her personal bank account totaling $124,610, investigators said. Authorities also reported more than $2,000 in unauthorized purchases made through the school’s Amazon account, including items such as clothing, weight-loss products and perfume.
Investigators allege the funds were taken through an organized scheme in which Folliett collected cash for various school clubs and activities and retained a portion for herself. As a result, officials said, several school invoices were paid late, and sports teams and clubs experienced issues with orders because funds were not deposited in full.
The sheriff’s office also reported that Folliett is accused of disguising attendance figures at sporting events. Investigators noted a consistent year-over-year decline in reported ticket sales that was inconsistent with increased attendance following the COVID-19 pandemic.
Folliett’s employment with Hilliard Middle-Senior High School was terminated in December 2024 following the school district’s preliminary findings. She was booked into the Nassau County Jail and Detention Center on a bond exceeding $75,000.
The investigation remains ongoing.

So much to comment on here. Terminated in December, 2024 and not charged until the end of January, 2026. As a retired Assistant Superintendent of Schools, Human Resources, I am sure that the district had to have plenty to go on to terminate her employment. It seems that she would have been a represented employee. So much for the District’s confidence in their independent audit process. What took so long to file charges? Who had oversight over this woman? Has that person suffered any consequences? What’s the SB’s take on this matter? How far up the chain of command does the blame flow?

Clearly a lack of dual controls. Does the School Board not have its auditor check such accounts given their high risk of malfeasance? Where was the oversight of the Amazon account purchases as purchases of health care and perfume should have had red flags flying high? For this theft to go on for so long is inexcusable.

Thank you very much for your FANtastic teamwork, Nassau County Florida Sheriff’s Office Law Enforcement Officers and investigators in the arrest of embezzler thief 46-year old Jennifer Lynn Folliett, Hillard, Florida. Jennifer really should come with a warning label. May she be sentenced to a lifetime in a Florida State Prison forever without the possibility of parole during her lifetime. Also, thank you for sharing Jennifer's 2026 Valentine photo.
