Holiday season kicks off with island museum’s annual Holiday Home Tour

Posted

Fernandina Beach’s most iconic Christmas event, the Amelia Island Museum of History’s 20th Annual Holiday Home Tour, is scheduled for December 4 and 5. Owners have decorated homes in the historic district for the holidays, with special touches added by local designers. Docents in each home will share its history, highlight period architectural elements, and guide visitors through the homes.

Preview Tour and Reception at Hoyt House Thursday, December 3

Enjoy a small-group guided tour, followed by a reception at the Hoyt House from 4-6 p.m., featuring hors d’oeuvres by Luxe by Les, beer, and wine.

Tickets for the Preview Tour and Reception are $125 and must be purchased online. Space is limited. Sells out quickly.

Quilt Raffle

The Amelia Island Quilt Guild has donated two beautiful handmade quilts: one with a Christmas theme and the other patriotic. Tickets are $5 each or five for $20. The quilts will be on display at the museum until the tour dates.

Emily Gordon Artwork

Artwork by island artist Emily Gordon will be on display at the museum and available for bidding until 4 p.m. Sunday. Gordon creates colorful, contemporary mixed-media art using layers of acrylic paint combined with materials such as paraffin, resin, and gold and silver leaf. The artwork includes references to Amelia Island.
