Amelia Community Theatre presents a classic story for the holiday season with 10 performances of "Little Women the Musical" from Nov. 29 to Dec. 14. Based on Louisa May Alcott's beloved novel and set during the Civil War, the show centers on the four March sisters of Concord, Massachusetts. Meg has the traditional role of eldest sister. Non-conformist Jo wants to be a writer. Beth is timid and loves playing the piano, while Amy is adventurous and romantic. Their mother, Marmee, leads them while their father is away, serving as a chaplain for the Union Army. The musical explores the joys and heartaches of growing up and the importance of finding one's voice.
Director Heather Starling shared, "Little Women is a story that has lived in my heart since childhood. Our cast and crew beautifully capture the warmth, humor, and resilience of the March sisters, reminding us all that love and imagination can carry us through even the hardest times." The cast includes Rem Farr, Lisa Knapp, Renee LaCroix, Elliott Miller, Anthony Rodriguez, Nicole Sheehan, Julia Taylor, Amelia Underwood, Joe Zaccaro, and Lila Zaccaro.
