“Let’s Listen: Healing the Great Divides” - November program on growth in Nassau County

Posted

The growth in Nassau County — population, housing, economic and more — sparks lively dialogue, and sometimes controversy, throughout the region. Nassau County Commissioner John F. Martin and County staff member Brandy Carvalho, Director of Strategic Advancement and Economic Resources, will be on hand to share Vision 2050, the roadmap for decisions on housing, transportation, schools, and utilities, and to discuss Florida’s ballot amendment 3, data centers, and more.

As the 7th fastest-growing county in Florida, Nassau saw an 18.6% increase in population from ‘20-‘25. How residents view the changes so far and those anticipated in the next 25-75 years can depend on their relationship to the region: natives, relocated retirees, recent settlers, Amelia Islanders, or those living in the rural westside. Developers, business owners, and other investors also seek a stake in future growth.

A community dialogue will address the changes, the current status of growth management, and take a look at the county’s future.
