Exhibit of Amelia Excavations -- Plus Lecture on Big Talbot Digs

Stories Underground highlights significant archaeological excavations on Amelia Island, from crude 19th-century explorations of native burial mounds to the fruitful "Dorion Dig" on the south end in the 1980s. The temporary exhibit opens Friday, Dec. 16 at 6 p.m. at the Amelia Island Museum of History

The exhibit will open with a lecture by UNF archaeologist Dr. Keith Ashley, who will speak about current excavations he and his students are doing on Big Talbot Island.

Attendance is $5 for museum members with a suggested donation of $10 for nonmembers. Seating is limited on a first come, first served basis. This program is wheelchair accessible.
