Broadway Tap Dancer and Jazz Pianist Team Up for Amelia Island Dance Festival Shows

The Amelia Island Dance Festival presents an exciting show featuring Broadway tap dancer John Manzari and jazz pianist Luther S. Allison. The performances will take place on Friday, May 9 and Saturday, May 10, 2025 at 7:30 p.m. at Amelia Community Theatre.

John Manzari is known for his roles in Broadway shows like "Funny Girl" and "Tootsie." He's performed at major venues like The Kennedy Center and Carnegie Hall and has worked with many famous musicians and orchestras.

Luther S. Allison is an accomplished pianist with a bachelor's degree from the University of Tennessee and a master’s degree from Michigan State University. He was the pianist on Samara Joy’s Grammy Award-winning single, “Tight.” Luther’s debut album, “I Owe It All to You,” has made waves since its release in 2024.

Together, these artists will create a show in which tap dancing and piano music come together in a unique way. The program will include a variety of music and some improvised pieces that both artists will create on the spot.

"This show is about the conversation between dance and music," says festival director Susan Dodge. "It's going to be entertaining for everyone, even if you've never been to a dance performance before."
