Editor's Note: Ron and Janet Pfeffer retired and moved to Amelia Island in 2016, where they enjoy all outdoor activities. The island has provided the perfect backdrop for his pursuit of interests in photography and birds, and he recently completed the coursework to become a Florida Master Naturalist. He serves on the Board of Directors of the Friends of Talbot Islands State Parks (FTISP) and leads naturalist tours on behalf of FTISP and the North Florida Land Trust.
