Veterans Day Parade Downtown Fernandina Beach--Thursday, November 11, 2021 11 am
Hosted by American Legion Post 54
Veterans Day is a tribute to military veterans who have served in the U.S. Armed Forces.
The parade route starts at Central Park on Ash Street and proceeds west to 2nd Street, then north on 2nd to Centre and east on Centre back to Central Park.
The American Legion Auxiliary will have poppies available along the parade route (donation requested).
Veterans Day occurs on November 11 every year in honor of the “eleventh hour of the eleventh day of the eleventh month" of 1918 that signaled the end of World War I, known as Armistice Day. Eisenhower officially changed the name of the holiday from Armistice Day to Veterans Day.
