I've been coming to Fernandina Beach as a tourist at least once a year for 20+ years. A major attraction of your downtown area has always been free parking, giving visitors the ability to pull into a parking space on a whim as they drive down Center Street and perhaps spy a store or restaurant they hadn't noticed and/or visited before, then jump out to browse or grab a bite. Don't ruin this delightful ambiance by charging for that kind of access. Yes, finding a spot at 3pm on a Saturday can be a challenge...but don't discourage us browsers and walkers just for the sake of a few extra bucks (which I for one will not pay!).
