Jon Holland, the Annual Giving Officer of the Tamassee DAR School, will be the guest speaker at the January 17 meeting of the Amelia Island Chapter National Society Daughters of the American Revolution.
The school is in Tamassee, South Carolina, about 25 miles northeast of Clemson. It is a coed boarding school which provides a home-like atmosphere for children in need or crisis. Pastor Holland will speak of the school’s history, as well as its programs and services.
The National Society Daughters of the American Revolution is the largest women’s service organization in the world and contributes over one million volunteer hours a year. The almost 200 members of the Amelia Island Chapter contribute approximately 5,000 volunteer hours and $4,000 in scholarships and awards in Nassau County each year.
Meet and Greet begins at 10:00 a.m. at the Golf Club of Amelia Island, 4700 Amelia Island Parkway. The general meeting begins at 10:30, followed by lunch. Daughters should RSVP to the meeting and the $20 lunch to Jean at 904-321-2827 or pjw66@comcast.net no later than January 14th.
