State Senator Aaron Bean endorses Dr. Kathy Burns for Nassau County Superintendent of Schools.Today, Nassau County Superintendent of Schools Candidate Dr. Kathy Burns announces the endorsement of State Senator Aaron Bean. Senator Bean represents Florida’s 4th Senate District, which covers all of Nassau County and parts of Duval County. Bean grew up in Nassau County and is the Senate Health Policy Chairman. Both of his parents were teachers. His father, Lewis “Red” Bean taught Building Construction at Fernandina Beach High School and was the Director of Vocational Education for the Nassau County School District for many years.
“Dr. Kathy Burns is a three time teacher of the year recipient, a conservative leader and an exceptional educator. She has served Nassau's schools in the classroom and on the school board," said Bean. “She has dedicated her whole career to education and will be a great leader for the Nassau County school system where my own children attend and have graduated," said Bean.
“I am honored to receive the endorsement of Senator Aaron Bean. He has been a great leader in our community for many years. Senator Bean and I have worked together on education issues for Nassau County Schools and I look forward to continuing to work with him. He is a great leader to add to our team,” said Burns.
State Senator Aaron Bean first began his public service as a Fernandina Beach City Commissioner. He is a small business owner and works at UF Health Jacksonville as the Relationship Development Officer. Senator Bean was born and raised in Fernandina Beach and is a graduate of Jacksonville University. He lives in Fernandina Beach with his wife Abby and their three sons who all attend or recently graduated from Nassau County Public Schools.
