Sister is one of the five nominated Animated short films which will be screened during the 10th Annual Oscar-Nominated Short Films Fest on Sun Feb 2 at the Amelia Musical Playhouse.Academy Award-nominated short films from around the world will be screened during the 10th Annual Oscar-Nominated Short Films Fest on Sun Feb 2, hosted by Kate Hart, at the Amelia Musical Playhouse, located at 1955 Island Walk Way, in Fernandina Beach. The 15 films were created by filmmakers from Tunisia, Sweden, Czech Republic, France, Ireland, China, the UK, South Korea, Belgium, and the USA.
Admission to each individual screening session is $10: limited Film Fan Passes - good for admission to all 4 sessions - are $32. Tickets and Passes can be purchased in advance at The UPS Store, Mon-Fri 8:30a-6:30p, and Sat 8:30a-3:30p; any remaining tickets will be available at the Amelia Musical Playhouse during the festival.

Hair Love USA, 7 min. Centers around the relationship between an African-American father, his daughter Zuri, and the most daunting task a father could ever come across doing his daughter’s hair for the first time.

Sister China/USA, 8 min. A man thinks back to his childhood memories of growing up with an annoying little sister in China in the 1990s. What would his life have been like if things had gone differently?
Kitbull USA, 9 min. Reveals an unlikely connection that sparks between two creatures: a fiercely independent stray kitten and a pit bull.

In Sweden, over 400 refugee children have been afflicted with this life-threatening psychosomatic illness.

Despite limited athletic and recreational opportunities for women and girls, especially those who come from impoverished neighborhoods, there is a new generation of Afghan girls who believe they can do anything: learn to read, write - and skateboard - in Kabul.

Saria USA, 23 min. The tale of two inseparable orphaned sisters, Saria and Ximena, as they fight against daily abuse and unimaginable hardship at Virgen de la Asuncion Safe home in Guatemala.
Nefta Football Club Tunisia/France, 17 min. Two young brothers come across a donkey in the desert. Strangely, the animal is wearing headphones over its ears.
