Railroad cars derail in vicinity of 8th and Sadler

Railroad cars have derailed and some have overturned  just east of Sadler Road near Bonnieview, according to a passing motorist.

Information submitted to the Fernandina Observer from a passing motorists:

"There was a train derailment this afternoon (Sunday) at about 4:15 along 8th St. just south of Sadler Rd. Looks like 4 cars filled with coal left the tracks, maybe due to the rail bed collapsing."

On Sunday, August 11 at 9:37 p.m. another motorist reported flood lights in place and a crane on site.
