The Professional Firefighters of Fernandina Beach Local 2836, The Amelia Island-Nassau County Association of Realtors and former opponent Roy Smith have all publically endorsed Tim Poynter for Fernandina Beach Commissioner in the Group 2 run-off election December 9.
According to a letter from the Firefighters Union, the organization unanimously endorsed Tim Poynter and his campaign at a special union meeting on Nov. 16. The Union offered to help promote Tim’s campaign through its Facebook page, by sign-waving and other promotional activities.
Roy Smith, who ran against Tim and Charlie Corbett in the Nov. 4 election said this about the run-off, “I would like to thank everyone who voted for me. I am endorsing Tim Poynter in the run-off election and would appreciate it if my voters would cast their votes for Tim. He puts the best interests of our town and residents first.”
“I am honored that these organizations and Roy Smith have chosen to support me for Commissioner in Group 2,” said Poynter. “We all share a common vision for the future of Fernandina Beach and their support means so much to me."
