Unified-Nassau, an Indivisible group based in Nassau County, Florida, is sponsoring a NO KINGS 3 rally on Saturday in solidarity with thousands of groups across the nation and the world.
The group issued this press release regarding the event:
More than 2,500 events are scheduled throughout the U.S. and numerous international rallies are also planned. The rallies will highlight the impacts of the total dysfunction and self-aggrandizing policies of the Trump administration. It will be held at the northwest corner of South 8 th Street at Lime Street in Fernandina Beach, from 10:00 am-12:00 pm.
Donna Lewis, a Unified-Nassau spokesperson, said “the damage done to our economy, our environment, and our people by the Trump administration will take decades to repair. While he and his cronies terrorize our communities and line their pockets through insider deals, people have lost their livelihood, their healthcare and, in many cases, their homes, Americans deserve better. Our children and grandchildren deserve to live in a kinder, economically stable and more inclusive country.”
Lewis went on, “The Republicans claim that protestors are being paid. Unlike Trump and his grifting administration, we are not motivated by personal financial gain, we are motivated by the obligation to protect our communities and our democracy.”
Unified-Nassau is affiliated with Indivisible, a movement driven by a vision of, for and, by the people. The Indivisible movement is a network of local groups with millions of activists across every state, working to build an inclusive democracy by fighting for bold,
progressive policies and creating local, lasting grassroots power.
Peaceful protest is a cornerstone of Unifed-Nassau and Indivisible rallies. All participants are expected to remain peaceful and to seek to de-escalate conflicts, should they arise.

I'll be there. 67 with high winds, so light jackets and really hang on to your signs! Let Americans know that we still believe in the dream symbolized by Lady Liberty.

If Unified-Nassau has 200 protesters show up, and 800 supporters honk their horns, that would be 7.7% of Fernandina's population and 1.3% of the county's adult population. I look forward to the Observer's reporting on these metrics.
