Commissioner Steve KelleyNassau County Commissioner Steve Kelley has withdrawn from the upcoming Board of County Commission election for District 2. Kelley, has served on the board since 2010 when he defeated an incumbent, the late Mike Boyle.
During yesterday's budget workshop, covered by Suanne Z. Thamm, reporter-news analyst, it was reported " . . . Commissioner Steve Kelley (Dist. 2) did not attend the meeting for reasons relating to health. announced that Kelley would not be able to attend the next meeting for the same reason."
At this time, two republican candidates, Aaron Bell (qualified), and Dawn Hagel (filed) are vying for Kelley's District 2 seat.
Unless candidate(s) representing a non-republican party, a write in, or a no party affiliation candidate, appears by noon on June 22, the election for District 2 will be determined during the August 28, election. At that time, all registered voters will be allowed to cast their ballot for the District 2 County Commission race .
