September 1, 2019 - 7:08 p.m.Nassau County officials have just announced a mandatory evacuation due to Hurricane Dorian, effective at 8:00 AM, Monday.
Normal City operations will cease effective Tuesday morning at 8:00 (since no operations were due to be conducted on Monday due to the holiday). All meetings, including the scheduled City Commission budget public hearing and regular meeting, are postponed until further notice.
The current projected track of the hurricane puts the storm approximately fifty miles off of the Fernandina Beach coast sometime Wednesday afternoon.
The Emergency Operations Center (EOC) will transition to twenty-four hour operations, effective 7:00 AM Monday morning.
Please continue your hurricane preparations and plan for your family's safety.
