Macedonia AME Church invites community to Father's Day service

Macedonia African Methodist Episcopal Church Pastor Anthony C. Daniel has extended an invitation to the community to join him and the congregation for a special Father’s Day service on Sunday, June 21, 2015, at 11:00 a.m. Rev. Daniel has entitled his sermon “Don’t Give Up!” While honoring and encouraging fathers, Daniel said that this week’s sermon will have added significance in light of the mass shooting on Wednesday night in the historic Emanuel African Methodist Episcopal Church in Charleston, SC, which resulted in the deaths of 9 people who were attending a prayer service at the time.

Rev. Daniel has been a strong voice locally in trying to bring people together to promote dialog which strengthens the bonds between diverse segments of the Fernandina Beach community. In January, Macedonia AME Church hosted a community service attended by more than 200 people from across the community to help bridge the gap between law enforcement and members of the minority community.
