Boy Scout Troop 89, sponsored by the Fernandina Beach Rotary Club for more than 75years, awarded 83 merit badges in 34 categories during its fall Court of Honor at the Adam Kelley Scout Hut, Central Park. The troop also awarded 14 Scouts with Rank

Advancements. The areas of interest for the merit badges taught Scouts skills in science, trades, business, sports, crafts, and future careers, including new merit badges in Animation, Digital Technology, Programming, Game Design, Search and Rescue, Robotics, and Geocaching. Scouts must earn 21 merit badges from the more than 100 badges available to earn the rank of Eagle. Scouts also earned special

awards for Mile Swim, Snorkeling, and National Leadership.

Troop 89 is a strong troop, open to all boys, ages 11 through 18; no previous Scouting experience or background is required. Troop 89 meets most Monday evenings 6 p.m. at the Adam Kelley Scout Hut in Central Park.
