As a community which has struggled in the past with short term rental issues, we thought our readers might be interested in knowing what is happening in Honolulu, Hawaii where the number of un-registered short term rentals is growing.

According to Finnerty's report, "Lack of enforcement, and tremendous profit potential, has led to the development of a grey market industry that is now worth in excess of $1 billion annually."
