Daniel WrightDaniel Wright, former Nassau County teacher was sentenced yesterday by Circuit Court Judge Adrian Soud to 20 years in prison followed by sexual predator probation.
In 2014, Wright was charged with multiple sexual offenses involving two under-aged students. Wright served as media teacher and yearbook advisor at FBHS and was a former teacher in Hilliard.
Assistant State Attorney Donna Thurson said, "Sexual abuse cases such as this are difficult to prosecute. To paraphrase Judge Soud’s remarks, there are three places children should know they are safe; home, worship, and school. Mr. Wright violated an important trust.”
The Office of the State Attorney - 4th Judicial Circuit of Florida issued the following press release:
Daniel Gregory Wright, 33, was sentenced this week to 20 years in prison and lifetime sex offender probation for his conviction on three counts of Custodial Sexual Battery, one count of Tampering with Evidence, three counts of Electronic Transfer of Information Harmful to Minors and 31 counts of Possession of Photographs/Sexual Performance by a Child.
