Fernandina Little Theatre's announces upcoming production

Tickets are now on sale for Fernandina Little Theatre's upcoming production

of Christopher Durang's hit *Vanya and Sonia and Masha and Spike*, which

opens on Sat May 23. A Chekhovian mash-up from a master of comedy, this

delightfully off-kilter romp won the 2013 Tony Award for Best Play.

FLT 6 Stephen France, Frank O'Donnell, Janet Cote-Merow, and Buffy WellsFLT's cast includes Buffy Wells, Frank O'Donnell, Stephen France, Janet

Cote-Merow, Rebecca Brown and Karen Antworth; the production is directed

by Amelia Hart. Performances are May 23, 26, 28, 29 & 30 at 7:30p, and May

24 at 4:30p.

Tickets for all performances are $17, and can be purchased in

advance at The UPS Store.

When local actor Frank O’Donnell recommended she look at Christopher

Durang’s *Vanya and Sonia and Masha and Spike* as a possible production for Fernandina Little Theatre’s next season, Managing Artistic Director Kate

Hart read 4 pages and immediately requested the rights to perform the

off-beat play asap. "It fit perfectly into our season, as well as being perfect for the kind of theater FLT is known for presenting: critically-acclaimed, award-winning, not-your-run-of-the-mill productions."

Durang is an award-winning playwright well-known for his comedies,

including *The Marriage of Bette and Boo*, *Beyond Therapy*, and *Sister

Mary Ignatious Explains It All for You*; his latest accolade is the 2013

Tony Award for Best Play for *Vanya and Sonia and Masha and Spike*, a comic mash-up inspired by Chekov's *Uncle Vanya*.

Amelia Hart is directing FLT’s production; the cast features Buffy Wells,

Frank O’Donnell, Stephen France, Janet Cote-Merow, Rebecca Brown, and Karen Antworth, and Annette Rawls is presiding as stage manager. Performances are May 23, 26, 28, 29 & 30 at 7:30p, and May 24 at 4:30p at FLT. Tickets for all performances are $17, and can be purchased in advance at The UPS Store. FLT is an intimate performance space, and patrons are encouraged to purchase tickets in advance to guarantee seating availability.
