Nassau County taxpayers taking advantage of early payment discounts, await the reopening of the Historic Courthouse on Centre Street, Fernandina.

Employees and customers were asked to leave the Nassau County Court House shortly before 9:00 a.m. today after the sounding of a fire alarm. The Fernandina Beach Fire Department responded, but no fire was detected. Officials on the scene reported the false alarm was possibly caused by a faulty alarm on the building's second floor.
