John Mandrick, Utilities Department Director for the city of Fernandina BeachThe May 2017 issue of Water Efficiency Magazine has highlighted the work done under the leadership of Utilities Department Director John Mandrick in using solar power to offset the monthly electric bills for its water and sewage operations. In the article Mandrick was quoted as saying that with the completion of the solar plan, the plant will be 52 percent powered by the sun. He also said that the entire project has been financed by ratepayers, not as part of property tax bills.
