Fernandina Beach Business and Building Starts: November 2014

The Fernandina Observer welcomes the following businesses newly licensed to operate in our city last month.

During November 2014, the city surveyed 171 building permits with a total valuation of $3.0M. This activity brought in $202K in fees for the city. Permits were issued for 12 new buildings and a sales center. Permit activity was down in comparison to November 2013, when the city surveyed 235 permits, resulting in $184K in permit revenue. Year-to-date activity continues to be down in comparison to the same period last year. There have been 61 permits to construct new buildings issued to date in 2014, while during the same period in 2013, 75 such permits were issued. In 2013, 2,700 total permits were surveyed by November, resulting in city revenue of $1.5M; while in 2014, 2,507 permits have been surveyed to date, bringing the city $1.4M in permit fees.
