Fernandina Beach Business and Building Starts: March 2015

The Fernandina Beach Community Development Department's Bretta Walker (l) and Angie Lester (r) compile the statistics that the Fernandina Observer reports each month.The Fernandina Observer welcomes the following businesses newly licensed to operate in our city last month.

During March 2015, the city issued 232 permits, 32 more than the same period in 2014. This activity brought the city $104,359 in fees. Permits were issued for 5 new homes, one new commercial building and 3 demolitions. There were also 2 Stop Work Orders issued in March. Permits for the first quarter of 2015 calendar year are running ahead of last year, 673 to 612. The Building Department also reported that it is updating counter procedures.
