Fernandina Beach Business and Building Starts: August 2013

The Fernandina Observer welcomes the following businesses newly licensed to operate in our city last month:

The Community Development Department, which handles both planning and building, along with staffing city advisory committees, is doing its best to keep up with growing workloads during times of staffing cutbacks and normal turnover.
The City Building Department issued 244 building permits in August. By activity, the greatest number of permits were issued for roofing or mechanical work, followed by electrical and general residential building permits. Nine permits for new construction were issued.
All permits may be viewed on the city website fbfl.us. The permits listed below reflect new construction or other significant building activity:
