DAR offers scholarships to area high school students

Guidance counselors at all four Nassau County high schools have been supplied with on-line applications and guidelines for this year’s DAR scholarships. The Amelia Island Chapter of the National Society Daughters of the American Revolution provides $1,000 scholarships each year to one member of the senior class of each high school in the county. Applications must be submitted to the schools’ guidance counselors by March 14, 2017.

The Amelia Island Chapter conducts several fundraisers throughout the year to raise the $4,000 needed for these scholarships. The Spring Rummage sale, which will be held on April 1st this year, is a major fundraiser for the chapter’s scholarship program.
