Captain Beamer speaks at Amelia Island DAR

U.S. Navy Captain G. Patrick Beamer, Supply Corps (Ret) is joined by Lynn Leisy, Regent of Amelia Island Chapter Daughters of the American Revolution and  1st Vice Regent Carol Elefterion.

Captain Beamer was the chapter’s guest speaker to commemorate Veterans Day. He spoke about the men and women who have served and are serving in the armed forces, as well as those who await their return.

Captain Beamer is a 1967 graduate of the U.S. Naval Academy with a 26-year career in Supply Corps positions both ashore and afloat. After his retirement to Fernandina Beach, he became active in several veterans organizations and served as national commander of The Society of 40 Men and 8 Horses.

The National Society Daughters of the American Revolution is the largest women’s service organization in the world and contributes over one million volunteer hours a year. The almost 200 members of the Amelia Island Chapter contribute approximately 5,000 volunteer hours and $4,000 in scholarships and awards in Nassau County each year.
