In Barnabas Center’s recently released 2016-2017 Annual Report, the remarkable numbers speak more loudly than the words: the lives of 6,000 men, women and children were improved through leveraged partnerships with 20 organizations; 382,400 pounds of donated healthy food were provided to more than 5,000 people; 871 uninsured men and women received critical medical, mental health and vision services. One of the most significant numbers in the report is the 16,104 hours of service that more than 200 active volunteers tirelessly gave to help neighbors in the community receive the care and hope they needed. As the primary nonprofit resource for providing assistance to individuals and families in crisis throughout Nassau County, Barnabas Center is proud of its numbers. But Barnabas is even more pleased it is making an impact on people and changing lives.
