Apology

I made an irresponsible and hurtful comment on Facebook regarding the paid parking issue in Fernandina Beach when I wrote, “Guns were invented for things like this.” My comments were harmful to civil discourse in our community and the people that live in it. We all need to be mindful of the impact words can have on others. I am truly remorseful as I never intended to escalate the issue to that point, nor did I intend to incite others to engage in hurtful commentary or action. I never intended my comment to cause anyone distress and for this I sincerely apologize to anyone who may have been harmed.
