More than twice as many students as the prior year participated in the county-wide contest.
"I'm thrilled with the participation across the county this year," said contest coordinator, Cynthia Griffin.
Each student entry was reviewed by three published authors who judged for excellence in the craft of narrative short story fiction, including character development, dialogue, plot, setting, conflict and resolution, as well as grammar and spelling. All participating students received individual feedback on their entries from the judges.
