A Fun-Filled Performance of Music and Dance on Saturday, February 1

The Amelia Island Chamber Music Festival will present A Musical Carnival for Children of All Ages on February 1. Dancers from the Amelia Island Dance Festival under the direction of Susan Dodge will perform to the music of French composer Camille Saint-Saëns, played by pianists Julie Coucheron and Elizabeth Pridgen. This performance was developed in association with the Festival’s Young Patrons program.

This very special 1:00 PM concert will be held at the Fernandina Beach Life Center at the Nassau County Council on Aging, 1901 Island Walk Way. Tickets for this and every concert in the 2020 season are available at www.aicmf.com or 904/261-1779.

Ms. Coucheron and Ms Pridgen will perform a four-hand piano version of The Carnival of the Animals by Saint-Saëns. Julie Coucheron if an award-winning pianist who tours internationally. Born in Oslo, Norway, she has worked with such notables as Emanuel Ax, Yo-Yo Ma, and Elton John. Elizabeth Pridgen is a distinguished soloist and chamber musician. She is artistic director of the Atlanta Chamber Players, one of the nation’s leading chamber ensembles. Susan Dodge is a noted choreographer and professional dancer. Formerly a member of the Paul Taylor Dance Company, she has taught at universities and conservatories across the country.

Upcoming concerts in the Festival’s 2020 season include country and bluegrass legend Ricky Skaggs on February 9, the Dover Quartet on February 16 and the Christiania Piano Trio on February 23.
