Shrimping Industry Community Meetings Coming Up

For those who may have missed the Northeast Florida Shrimping Industry Market Study workshop in February held in Fernandina Beach, the Northeast Florida Regional Council has scheduled a final round of meetings to get input on the market study, present results, and identify opportunities for the future. You are cordially invited to the final three Shrimping Industry Market Study meetings in the coming weeks. Please share with anyone who may be interested in attending these meetings.

Meeting 1: Virtual Shrimping Industry Listening Session

Date and time: Monday, April 21, 11 a.m.-noon

In this workshop, we will brainstorm how to bolster the shrimping industry, honor its history, and identify opportunities for growth. This meeting is for those who were unable to attend the Listening Sessions in Fernandina Beach, Mayport, and St. Augustine in February/March. Please join the Northeast Florida Regional Council for this final opportunity to share your input!

Meeting 2: Virtual Market Study Results Presentation

Date and time: Friday, May 2, 11 a.m.-noon

At this meeting, the Northeast Florida Regional Council will present the results and recommendations from the Northeast Florida Shrimping Industry Market Study.

Meeting 3: Community Asset Inventory Meeting

Date and time: Tuesday, May 6, 10 a.m.-noon

Please join us in person at the Mayport Community Center with local and state experts to discuss how to implement the recommendations from the Shrimping Industry Market Study. At this meeting, you will learn about various project and grant opportunities.
