A nearly seven-hour manhunt on Amelia Island for what police said was a dangerous suspect ended at about 10:35 p.m. Wednesday when Nassau County Sheriff's deputies took the man into custody.
Police cars and a sheriff's helicopter descended on Robin Hood Drive shortly after 3 p.m. searching for 45-year-old Ryan Daniel Nave.
According to Nassau County Jail inmate records, Nave was booked at 1 a.m. today with charges of attempted murder, solicitation and conspiracy. He was listed as homeless.
Police earlier had posted this alert on Facebook: Expect heavy law enforcement presence in the area of Robinhood Drive in Fernandina Beach. Detectives are on scene and looking for a suspect. Neighbors reported that a home on Robin Hood Drive had been marked with police evidence tape with restricted access.
According to Nassau County Court records, Nave has been charged 41 times dating to 2004 for drug-related incidents, burglary, probation violations and various traffic infractions.
